The London Community Gospel Choir's turning 30!

At least 30 choirs will gather in London over the May Bank Holiday weekend as part of celebrations for the London Community Gospel Choir's 30th birthday.

The London Community Gospel Choir is a collective of voices from all ages, cultures and backgrounds founded by the Reverend Bazil Meade.

Over the course of the last 30 years, the choir has sung with some of the biggest names in music, like Madonna, Elton John and Paul McCartney.

The Choir Festival programme includes expert workshops, unique performance opportunities, and a mega concert at the Royal Festival Hall.

A Guinness World Record attempt is on the agenda to break the record for the highest number of people in a gospel choir singing together in concert conditions.

At least 1,200 performers are expected to make it a success singing the classic 'O Happy Day' and LCGC's anniversary single 'Keep Moving'.

Choirs from France, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Sweden as well as choirs from all over the UK will be taking part.

The Choir Festival takes place from 4 to 6 May at London's Southbank Centre.
