'The Last Ship season' 2 spoilers: Ramsey implicates the Navy in big disaster in episode 11 'Valkyrie'

The Navy stands to lose the trust of the American people in the upcoming episode of "The Last Ship." TNT

Chandler (Eric Dane) and the squad will be facing a major tragedy in the upcoming episode of TNT's post-apocalyptic drama series "The Last Ship."

In "Valkyrie," Cartermatt reports that the Navy will be entangled with Sean Ramsey's (Brían F. O'Byrne) grand plans to discredit the soldiers on the eyes of the American people. The villain will apparently implicate Chandler and his team in a devastating event that will rock the continent.

Now, more than ever, they need to infiltrate Ramsey's network to destroy the threat from within. At the same time, they have to regain the trust of their own people by proving that the Navy has nothing to do with the disaster. A chance has come to vindicate themselves. Nathan James has located the source of the signal traced to the Immunes.

Chandler and his ship will immediately set out to find it. The source is coming from the middle of the ocean, in a mysterious oil platform that seems to have sprouted out of nowhere. The moment they set foot on the place, civilian forces come wave after wave to eliminate the Navy.

These people have allied themselves with the Ramsey's. They all agree with the brothers' plan to infect the entire species with the virus. In the brutal battle that ensues, Chandler must make sure to get the information that he needs from the platform and bring his entire team back safely to the Nathan James.

Meanwhile, TNT has renewed the series for season 3. According to Spoiler TV, the next installment is slated to air next summer, with a total of 13 episodes. The show is reportedly averaging nine million viewers across platforms and is currently the top scripted series within the 25–54 adults demographic. It is also one of the third highest viewed programs among viewers age 18–49.

"The Last Ship" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on TNT.
