Callie (Maia Mitchell) will see a different side of Rita (Rosie O'Donnell) in the upcoming episode of ABC Family's family drama series "The Fosters," which will air on August 3.
In "Daughters," Catermatt reports that Rita's daughter will show up unexpectedly, providing the Foster's oldest adopted child a rare glimpse the mother's personality. It appears that Callie will learn the reason behind the tense relationship between the leader of Girls' United and the daughter, which will cause her to reevaluate her feelings. Meanwhile, Stef (Teri Polo) will uncover a new lead in the hit-and-run accident and Brandon (David Lambert) will have some serious talk with his mothers about the palpable tension in their home.
Last episode was a test of faith for the Foster family. The social worker in charge of Callie's adoption told Stef and Lena (Sherri Saum) that the teenager will be taken away from their care immediately. Apparently, she had unearthed the restraining papers filed against Brandon and reasoned that the Foster's home was an inappropriate place for Callie to stay in.
The Fosters also told the children that AJ (Todd Williamson) would have to leave the house, but did not elaborate why. He would be under Rita's care temporarily while Mike (Danny Nucci) finalize his foster license. Ty (Chris Warren) then visited AJ at Mike's house, persuading him to run away with him.
Stef and Lena still had doubts about letting Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) be baptized for her to become Isabella's godmother, but they still allowed her to decide for herself. After talking to a priest, however, Mariana decided not to. Her biological mother Ana (Alexandra Barreto) then appeared at their residence, obviously under the heels of postpartum depression, ranting that she could not feel a connection with her new daughter. The Fosters then vowed to help her after a little push from Mariana.
Due to a short hiatus next week, viewers will get to see episode 8 of "The Fosters" on Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family.
