With the release of "Fallout 4," fans of another Bethesda franchise, "The Elder Scrolls," have been wishing that the developer now focus their attention on the release of the next installment. Although Bethesda has confirmed that there will be post-launch content for their latest "Fallout" outing, the release of the title has taken a big load off the development team's shoulders, and fans hope that this in turn will translate to a much earlier release for "The Elder Scrolls VI."

However, since Bethesda has not exactly confirmed that it is currently working on "The Elder Scrolls VI," fans are left with rumors and speculations about its release. The latest rumors say it is expected that Bethesda will be using a new engine to further fine-tune the upcoming title.

According to industry insider GamingBolt, a new game engine is a must should Bethesda develop the next installment to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." It has been at least four years since the success of "Skyrim" using the Creation Engine, which was cutting-edge at that time. Setting aside the tweak that Bethesda did for "Fallout 4," fans have been waiting for a long time for the continuing saga of "The Elder Scrolls," and Bethesda might as well celebrate the years it's taking for the game to take shape by developing another cutting-edge, thoroughly updated sixth title.

Meanwhile, as Bethesda is still keeping mum about any details on "The Elder Scrolls VI," speculations also run rampant on when the company will be finally releasing the much-anticipated sequel. According to rumors, since the developer has focused on "Fallout 4," which is another Bethesda big-name franchise, fans of "The Elder Scrolls" may need to wait for a few more years to see the sixth part, coming in 2017 at the earliest.
