"The Elder Scrolls," a highly anticipated game series, might not see a sixth installment — at least not anytime soon.
According to Bethesda Softworks Vice President Pete Hines in a report from Dual Shockers, the studio is focusing more on "Fallout 4" and it would still be a "very long time away" before another game project will be given priority.
Four years have passed since the release of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and the game studio has also recently released the online version, "The Elder Scrolls Online," but it appears that there are no talks about a successor to "The Elder Scrolls V."
The report also stated that Hines even thinks people won't be hearing any news about "Elder Scrolls" because of their 100 percent focus on "Fallout 4," which is expected to be handled by the entire studio.
This news would surely disappoint the many players who are eagerly awaiting the next installment to "The Elder Scrolls" series.
Although the news about "The Elder Scrolls VI" not happening any sooner might be upset some, it is still considered a good strategy for Bethesda so it can really focus on "Fallout 4."
The game could compete against several new game releases for this year, which include "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3."
In order for "Fallout 4" to succeed, it is only appropriate that Bethesda will give their utter attention to its development.
Meanwhile, there are other games that "Elder Scrolls" fans can focus on in the meantime. First, there's "The Elder Scrolls Online." There are also games from Bethesda to look forward to — "Dishonored 2" and the new "Doom."
"Dishonored 2" is another Bethesda stealth action-adventure game set to be released in 2016. It will feature the minor assassin Emily from the first game, who will now be the second installment's main character.
On the other hand, the new Doom game will be released in spring of 2016.
