The sequel to 2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot just added one new face to its repertoire with the casting of supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she was seen filming a kissing scene with Will Arnett last March 25 during a New York Knicks game.
Mostly popular as a Victoria's Secrets Angel, Ambrosio will be playing herself in the upcoming sequel and will be the new girlfriend of Arnett's Vernon Fenwick.
There have been no announcements yet whether she will only be in the film briefly or if she and Vernon will develop their own plot thread throughout the movie. There are speculations from fans that she could develop into a side-villain for the human characters of the film.
It will also mark Ambrosio's acting debut and her first speaking part in a big film. She was previously seen in a very quick cameo in 2006's "Casino Royale" and she appeared briefly as a runway model in both "Entourage" and "Gossip Girl."
Producer Michael Bay is no stranger to casting supermodels in the films he directs or produces. Megan Fox, who plays April O'Neil in "TMNT," was a popular model for Maxim and Cosmo Girl during her appearances in the first two Bay-helmed "Transformers" films. He then cast Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely for the third film.
Ambrosio will be joining the cast spearheaded by Fox, Arnett, Tohoru Masamune as the Shredder, and the four titular turtles. Numerous reports also indicate that fan-favorite villains Bepop and Rocksteady will be making their debut appearances as well.
The film is being directed by "Earth to Echo" director Dave Green based on a screenplay penned by Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" will be seen in theaters on June 3, 2016.
