Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie quarterback Jameis Winston is performing well in his first year in the National Football League (NFL) and offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter thinks he should be the Offensive Rookie of the Year this season.

Winston had a slow start with Tampa Bay but soon found his groove and is playing the way he did in college with the Florida State Seminoles.

In 15 games played and started this season, Winston completed 283-of-488 passes for 3,717 yards and 22 touchdowns, also throwing 13 interceptions.

According to ESPN, Winston has touched the football in each of the Bucs' offensive snaps, making him one of only four quarterbacks to do so this 2015 season.

Along with him are the New England Patriots' Tom Brady, Jacksonville Jaguars' Blake Bortles and the Washington Redskins' Kirk Cousins, who are not rookies.

"When you've got a guy who touches the ball every single offensive snap of the season, that guy is really going to be tough to beat," Koetter said, according to ESPN.

"Not one of the guys [being] mentioned has touched the ball every snap of the season. You look at what Jameis has done -- his numbers for a rookie quarterback are pretty darn good," he added.

Winston entered the NFL as the number one overall pick of the 2015 draft and he did not disappoint as he helped the Bucs who were a two-win team last season.

Tampa Bay is now at 6–9, tied for the last spot in the National Football Conference (NFC) South with the New Orleans Saints.

Despite not making it to the playoffs this 2015, the impact that Winston created is a stepping stone for the franchise as it begins its path to improvement.

Winston and the Bucs will try to close the 2015 NFL regular season in a good note, but it will not be an easy task as they take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.
