More than a month before the scheduled release in November, "Star Wars: Battlefront" is now available for play and it's for free.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" beta, which will be released to PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, and personal computer (PC) on Nov. 17, is now available for play on beta, according to Digital Spy. Publisher Electronic Arts and its developer EA DICE is running the beta to see how the game performs online.

Gamers can play "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta on PS4, Xbox One, and PC from Oct. 8 to Oct. 12. The beta started at 1 p.m. EST or 10 a.m. PST last Thursday. The file size is expected to be around 7 GB for PS4 and Xbox One, while it will be around 11 GB for PC.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" can be played on three maps on known planets that may be found in the Star Wars universe. It will be available on three multiplayer modes and have all the full game's features.

The Walker Assault mode is done on Hoth featuring Rebel fighters and AT-AT walkers. The goal is either to defend or destroy the AT-AT, depending on which side you're on. Forty players can play the game, with 20 on each team.

The Drop Zone mode is done on Sullust where two teams with eight players seek and protect escape pods that are falling on earth. Whichever team has the most number of saved pods wins the game.

The Survival Mission is done on Tattooine. It can be played by a single player or two with the objective of holding ground against Imperial Stormtroopers and TIE fighters.

Players also have the option to play some of Star War's iconic characters like Darth Vader and Boba Fett. It is up to the players to choose whether or not they will join the dark side.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" beta can be accessed by downloading the game's beta client. PS4 and Xbox One users can download it through its digital store, while PC players have to download EA's Origin service and get it from there.
