Sony Xperia Z5 news: Sony Mobile to launch Xperia Z5 product line at IFA 2015

The highly-anticipated reveal of Sony Mobile's latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z5, is expected to be included in the Japanese tech firm's discussion during its scheduled press conference at the IFA 2015. The highly anticipated high-end smartphone is believed to be unveiled at this year's consumer electronics and home appliances trade show in Berlin, Germany, after several reports about the device have been leaked. 

According to earlier reports, the Tokyo-based tech firm will launch three new devices under the Sony Xperia Z5 product line. It will include the flagship Xperia Z5, the smaller Xperia Z5 Compact, as well as the Xperia Z5 Ultra/ Premium.

All three devices are expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal memory capacity, finger sensor technology, a dedicated capless microUSB port, and a huge 4500 mAh battery that can allegedly last for up to two days. 

These Xperia Z5 devices are also expected to feature the groundbreaking 23-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX230 camera at the back. It is said to be able to capture crisper images with up to 5x Clear Image Zoom. It also has the fastest autofocus capacity in all smartphone cameras because of its 30-millisecond speed. 

The only difference among the three devices are its screen sizes. The Sony Xperia Z5 will allegedly come with a 5.2-inch touchscreen FHD display with1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, the smaller Xperia Z5 Compact will be released with a 4.6-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, while the Xperia Z5 Premium/ Ultra can be categorized as a phablet device because of its 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The three Sony Xperia Z5 products will reportedly feature 4K UHD display as well. 

The official release date and price range for all devices have yet to be revealed by the company. 

Sony's press conference in Berlin this year is scheduled to be conducted two days ahead of the opening of the IFA 2015. It will be spearheaded by Sony president and CEO Kazuo Hirai on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
