In addition, it was recently revealed that the company is also planning to release yet another selfie smartphone, called the Xperia M5, sometime in the middle of August, according to a report by The Verge.

Also, a new video promo for the Xperia M5 was recently unveiled, providing a glimpse of the new phone's water and dust proof qualities. The Xperia M5 is the successor to the newly released Sony Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone.

In terms of the specifications, the Sony Xperia M5 will sport a 5-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel (full high-definition) resolution. It will run on the new Android 5.0 version Lollipop operating system (OS) and will support 4G connectivity, just like the C5 Ultra.

The Next Web reports that the Xperia M5 will sport a very powerful 21.5-megapixel camera on the back and a 13-megapixel camera on the front. Under the hood, the Xperia M5 will pack a 64-bit 2.0 GHz processor, 3GB RAM, and up to 16GB internal memory storage.

In comparison, the Xperia C5 Ultra will sport a larger 6-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution and two 13-megapixel cameras on both sides. As a successor to Sony's Xperia C4, this phone is expected to run on the new Android 5.0 OS as well, but will pack only 2GB RAM and the same 16GB built-in memory capacity.

The Verge adds that both the Xperia C5 Ultra and M5 handset will run on batteries that can last up to two days without charging. In terms of the price, there's no word yet on how much both these new Xperia selfie smartphones will cost, but they are expected to be available in selected countries, according to Sony.
