 Sony Mobile

Japanese tech giant Sony Corporation recently announced it will begin shipping the new Sony Xperia C4 smartphone this week to the worldwide market.

The Japanese company added that the new Sony Xperia C4 smartphone device, which will come in black, white and mint green colors, will first be launched in Asia and later to other regions after a few weeks.

With its 5 mega pixel front-facing camera, the Sony Xperia C4 smartphone is designed for selfie lovers and enthusiasts that seek to capture sharp and clear photos. The front-facing camera comes with a 25 mm wide-angle lens that's suitable for larger backgrounds.

Other features of the front-facing camera include the Superior Auto Mode, HDR, soft-LED flash and optical image stabilization.

The smartphone uses a 13 mega pixel rear camera with an autofocus feature. It runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.

According to Sony, the battery offers users 12 hours and 47 minutes talk time, and up to 53 hours and 22 minutes music playing time. Users can also watch videos for up to 8 hours and 8 minutes, Sony added.

The Xperia C4 has a 5.5 inch full-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display screen, and uses a 1.7 GHz MediaTek MTK6752 processor. It packs 2GB worth of RAM and 16GB built-in memory. Users can expand the memory up to 128GB, via microSD card.

How much the phone will cost still remains unknown, but since Sony began shipping, details of the price will surely show up very soon.

Sony isn't the only company making smartphones for the selfie lovers. Taiwanese tech firm Asus recently launched its ZenFone Selfie smartphone device that comes with a powerful 13 mega pixel front-facing camera.

Like Sony's Xperia C4, Asus' selfie smartphone also comes with a 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display screen and a 13 mega pixel rear camera.
