Traditional tree houses — wooden houses constructed atop trees — are a thing of the past. The perfect getaway from the busy world has been given a very techy design — a solar-powered tree house.

The elevated house was designed by graphic designer plastics engineer Jono Williams, who wanted to have an elevated structure that offers a stunning 360-degree view of the outdoors complete with WiFi connectivity.

According to Mashable, Williams did not find that a standard tree house would be enough to satisfy his vision of an elevated room.

Named as "Skysphere," the tree house was located in Linton, New Zealand, and offers a circular, single-room house accessible through a ladder found at its base.

The glass walls offer a gorgeous sight of the surrounding countryside.

Apart from its ingenious design, the modern tree house is powered by solar energy necessary for Williams' gadgets, as noted in Mashable.

The hideout also offers a high-speed Internet connection, wireless sound system, a beer dispenser, and a lighting system that adapts to a person's mood.

Access to the tree house systems is fingerprint-based and Williams need to control all of them through an Android mobile app.

To get things in and out of the hi-tech tree house, Williams uses a "rope/pulley system" as he described in his blog. The tube is large enough in size so anyone who gets in it and has a backpack can fit in just right.

At an early age, Williams has always enjoyed building things, importing tons of steel from China for his projects.

Williams is a full time plastics engineer and graphic designer and manages his own IT company.

The Skysphere may offer the best retreat to anyone who wishes to enjoy the outdoors and at the same time enjoy the technology.

However, the only limitation to this awesome, solar-powered tree house is the lack of a functioning bathroom. Nevertheless, it's still a clever design. Besides, there's always a large forested area — a perfect place to answer nature's call.
