The contract dispute between the Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson continues and with no progress happening, the 26-year-old player looks to end contract talks by Friday, according to a report by ESPN.

If no deal will be reached, Wilson will enter the final year of his rookie contract with Seattle which will earn him $1.54 million next season.

He might also be designated the franchise tag this February if he will not be signed to a long-term contract.

The Seahawks already stated before that signing Wilson to a long-term deal is one of their main priorities but according to a source, the quarterback is not looking for negotiations to reach by Friday when the team opens their training camp.

Previous reports stated that Wilson was looking for a deal with the Seahawks that would make him the highest-paid National Football League (NFL) player.

Wilson is a huge part of Seattle's recent emergence as he led the team to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in the past two seasons and winning the franchise's first championship in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Pro Football Talk reported that the Seahawks offered Wilson a deal worth around $21 million with guaranteed money.

The offer lines him up with currently the highest-paid players in the NFL and is near Green Bay Packers quarterback and NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) Aaron Rodgers' contract worth $22 million annually, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league.

Wilson already said before that he is willing to play for the Seahawks next season despite not having a new deal.

"Ultimately, it comes down to the play. I let my play speak for itself and let the rest take care of itself. I continue to love the game for what it is and continue to fight and continue to play no matter how much I'm getting paid, no matter if it's $25 million or if it's $1.5 million. I'll be ready to go," he said in an interview with ESPN.
