It seems like "Beast Mode" will be with the Seattle Seahawks for their Wildcard Playoff game this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, as star running back Marshawn Lynch is "ready to go," according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Lynch has been out of Seattle since November because of an abdomen injury which required surgery.
But in a report on the Seahawks website, Carroll said in a press conference last Monday that Lynch is already good to go and has been working out.
"He's in the program working, going. He's going to keep doing his workouts here with us today and tomorrow, and Wednesday we're going to practice him and see how he feels and how far he can take it," Carroll discussed.
"He's worked out in incredibly competitive situations, he physically should be ready to go, but now we've got to translate it into football and directly to us and I'm not worried about him having any problem with the system or that kind of stuff," he added.
Carroll also compared their Wildcard Playoff game to the first game of the season for the potentially returning 29-year-old running back.
According to the report, Carroll and the Seahawks will monitor Lynch, with the head coach saying that all they wanted was for the five-time Pro Bowler to do what he usually does and how he deals with the workload.
Lynch's injury was one of the first setbacks for the Seahawks early in the season, with him being limited to seven regular season games, having 111 carries for 417 yards and three touchdowns.
The absence of Lynch affected Seattle but as the season progressed, the team found its rhythm and stringed a number of wins behind the leadership of franchise quarterback Russell Wilson.
Now with Wilson peaking and Lynch possibly coming back, the Seahawks are starting to look like the group that made it to the Super Bowl in the past two seasons.
