Episode 10 of "Scandal" season 6 will be special as it tackles the story of a parallel universe.
The upcoming episode of "Scandal" season 6 will be the 100th episode of the American television series drama since it premiered in 2012. The story will shift to a different perspective where Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) is not the president of the United States.
As fans can remember, Olivia (Kerry Washington) gave her consent to the decision of Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry) and Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) to rig the election results eight years ago to ensure that Fitz would get the presidency.
Titled "The Decision," the official synopsis for episode 10 reveals that the ugly truth about the assassination of former president Frankie (Ricardo Chavira) will come out. With this, Olivia will ponder on how life would be different for her and the country had they not manipulated the elections back then.
In the promotional preview for the upcoming episode, a scene shows a flashback from eight years ago, when they were talking about their next steps in the election. Doyle looks around the table and asks them whether they agree on manipulating the results or not. Olivia seems uncertain and anxious, but in the end, she decides to go with it.
The clip also shows them in the same scenario but this time, Olivia says no. The preview teases that the episode will take fans into a "twisty, crazy, parallel universe."
"He's very different. It's something of a study of how the circumstances of our lives shape our identity, how we see ourselves, and how we present ourselves to the world. It's subtle, the difference, it's just really interesting who he is and what he struggles with," said Goldwyn via Entertainment Weekly. "He ultimately is quite different."
"Scandal" season 6 will air episode 10 on Thursday, April 13, at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
