San Diego Chargers vs San Francisco 49ers (CBS TV start time): NFL football (game preview)

The San Diego Chargers will play the San Francisco 49ers today in one of two big NFL games this weekend on Saturday.

The game will start at 8.25 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on the CBS network. The game will take place from the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California and can also be watched online through live stream - free for subscribers - via the link provided below.

The Chargers come into this game on 8-6 compared to the 49ers' 7-7. In the AFC West that means the Chargers are tied for second place with the Kansas City Chiefs, but if things went to the tiebreaker then the Chiefs would come out on top at the moment.

The 49ers are also in third place in the NFC West, but their Playoff hopes have been dashed already regardless of how they do in their final two games of the season.

The Chargers meanwhile, although they are on the outside looking in at the moment, still have a chance of making the postseason, but will likely have to win out their final two games, and even then they will have to hope other results can go their way.

San Diego are a game back from both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens coming into this weekend, with both of those teams on 9-5, and occupying the 5th and 6th seed positions respectively in the AFC.

The Chargers of course will have to also leapfrog the Chiefs if they are to make the Playoffs as well as hold out against the threat from the 8-6 Buffalo Bills.

Today's game could be make or break time for the Chargers' season, and whether they will be able to overcome the 49ers on the road remains to be seen.

The game will start at 8.25 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on the CBS network. The game can also be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
