The San Antonio Spurs did more than just extend their winning streak to four games last Wednesday with a 114–95 victory over the Washington Wizards, as they also captured a franchise-best 23rd consecutive home win.

San Antonio has not been defeated at the AT&T Center in the past 23 times the team played in its home court, with the streak dating back since the 2014–15 regular season.

"We're feeling good, but we're not in a mood where we think we we're going to beat everybody and we're better than everybody. We still know we have a lot to improve," veteran guard Manu Ginobili, who finished with 11 points and eight assists, said according to the Associated Press.

But the Spurs are truly improving and along with their splendid offense, are showing great strides with their defense with the arrival of rookie center Boban Marjanović.

Against the Wizards, Marjanović only played 15 minutes but had seven points, six rebounds, and two rejections.

After the game, the 27-year-old center received praises from Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, who said according to the Associated Press, "I like his height. I guess that sounds funny, but he uses it well."

Popovich added, "It helps him on the offensive boards. He's a great target on the pick-and-rolls. Besides that, he's trying to change shots and play defensively, so he's doing a good job."

The addition of the Marjanović is huge for the Spurs who are only allowing 88.2 points per game, which is leading the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the defensive category "opponent points per game."

San Antonio aims to keep its home record unblemished in its next two games which are home stands versus legit contenders this season.

The Los Angeles Clippers will attempt to be the first team to win at the AT&T Center this Friday, before the Indiana Pacers get their shot on Monday.
