The Galaxy S6 series has been launched and became the new flagship product of Samsung. With the S6 Edge being touted as one of the best and smartest ideas Samsung has come up with, rumors are now circulating that the next Note could come with a curved display. Furthermore, it seems that the Note 5 will become a test bed for the inevitable release of the next generation in Samsung's Galaxy S series.

According to South Korea's ETNews, Samsung is considering adding a curve to the display for upcoming flagship handsets. It also listed Samsung Display, the company's manufacturing component, already in the process of expanding to accommodate the production of the next in line models.

It also noted that the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to launch in the second half of the year, during the months preceding the holidays, and will come with a flexible OLED edge display. Speaking about the Note 5 becoming a display predecessor to next year's S7, and unidentified Samsung executive told the publication: "The expansion is inevitable because it has been announced that Samsung Electronics have requested of 8 million flexible panels per month for 'Galaxy S7."

Even if the report is vague about when specifically the Note 5 would be released, Samsung observers are adamant that the next Note will come out in September, to be officially announced at this year's IFA event in Berlin, as Samsung always does for each new flagship device that they have.

Aside from the curved displays, the Galaxy Note 5 is also rumored to come out with Samsung's new processor and a 4K screen able to display 2160 x 3840 resolution at 743 ppi pixel density.
