'Rick and Morty' season 3 will have some of the best episodes, series creators promise

"Rick and Morty" season 3 is currently in production and is set to premiere by the end of the year. Speaking to Collider, series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland gave some insight into what fans can expect in the upcoming season and the level of quality the show will offer.

"Well we're well into the thick of it. We're deep into the season and I always like to underpromise and overdeliver but I do really feel like, the episodes we've got in the hopper are some of the best we've ever done, I think. But you know you never really know until they get out into the world," explained Roiland.

Roiland continued to explain that the creators were never sure which episode would be a hit with the audiences. After all, the episodes that the studios liked may not hit well with the audiences while an episosde they may not have considered that good may become a popular favorite among fans.

Harmon also revealed that while they were working on season 2 they could not come up with a proper means of ending the show and decided that the last episode they wrote would serve as a perfect cliffhanger. In the end, this idea stuck and season 2 ended with the Galactic Federation invading Earth and Rick placed in space prison.

The creators did not reveal any plot spoilers but when asked if they were interested in doing an "Interdimensional Cable III" they both agreed that it was on their radar. However, Roiland revealed they were planning on putting something different but would have the same impact and it may not be possible to put both ideas into season 3.

It was previously reported that the cliffhanger from season 2 will be resolved quickly, allowing the rest of season 3 to focus on newer stories and adventures.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 premieres during Q4 of the year.
