Bethenny Frankel, one of the stars of "Real Housewives of New York City," is going through a sad time as her beloved dog Cookie passed away this weekend.

The reality star shared the sad news to her fans via Twitter. "Bless her furry heart," she added. The series of events that led to the dog's passing was a heartbreaking one. Frankel and her daughter Bryn watched the dog suffer seizures on Saturday night. The ordeal being documented on social media when the television personality posted a series of videos on Instagram Story.

She recorded videos of herself crying, asking her Instagram followers what she should do. "I know my dog's convulsing. Do I take her to a vet?" she asked. "What do I do? My daughter's watching this and we have to do something. The vet is 40 minutes away."

Bethenny was eventually able to take the animal to a facility near their home in the Hamptons. She shared on social media that the dog was alive but still had a very high temperature. She said the dog even licked Bryn and responded when she gave it a belly rub.

The reality star also wrote her appreciation for the support that she has received from fans. She also contemplated how bad things in the world are somewhat meant to bring people closer.

"I'm grateful. People are loving & caring," Bethenny wrote. "Part of me thinks the crap in the world is to bring us closer & make us better. Thank you."

The dog stayed at the hospital, but unfortunately, its health remained poor over the weekend. On Monday morning, Frankel broke the news that her beloved pet had passed away.

Bethenny's pet was 17 years old when it died. The long years it spent with the celebrity's family is proof of how Frankel and the rest of her family took care of their beloved dog.
