"She's no Angel," the fifth episode of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6 that aired Tuesday, contained explosive revelations that shocked viewers, including perhaps the biggest clue about "A" yet, according to the International Business Times.
In that episode, the girls were having a difficult time returning to normalcy after their chaotic stint in prison. Understandably so, as Charles DiLaurentis, who they believed to be "A," was still on the loose.
The latest discovery that "A" may be a girl and not the mentally disturbed Charles surfaced when Aria's (Lucy Hale) new photography friend, Clark (Titus Makin Jr.) showed her a photograph of an old fan, with a hooded figure in the background. While the face cannot be seen, it became quite clear that the mysterious person has a bust.
The first reappearance of Mona (Janel Parrish) after the girls made it out of the Dollhouse was also a shocker. While almost everyone was happy that she was back in Rosewood, Lesli (Elizabeth McLaughlin), her childhood friend who surfaced after she "died," was not.
Lesli's testimony was the reason why the girls were sent to prison for murder. Apparently, she was being questioned by the police for helping Mona fake her death and now hated her for it.
Hanna (Ashley Benson) initially thought that Lesli was over-reacting until she found out that Lesli was in Radley with Mona and Charles. She and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) discovered this fact when they were snooping around the mental institution and saw Mona hiding in a room.
Mona had dug up Lesli's file, and on it she discovered that her friend was in Radley for years and was even a roommate of Bethany Young, the dead girl mistaken for Alison.
Hanna and Spencer also saw Charles' file, which confirmed that he was indeed dead and that some of his organs were donated after his death. With the evidence that they have uncovered, the girls were now thinking that "A" may not be Charles but was Lesli all along.
With only six episodes left in the season, show creator Marlene King has started to post on Twitter that "A" will be revealed in the summer finale, International Business Times reported. She also hinted that "A" was not a single masked person but a team.
"The summer of Answers really is the summer of answers. All will be reveAled. Face. Name. Story. Who and why!" she wrote.
ABC's popular teen thriller will go on a two-week hiatus after Episode 5 and will return with a five-year time jump.
