Pray for America: Christians in Australia seek prayers for transformation, spiritual revival in U.S.

As millions of Christians in the United States prepare to observe the National Day of Prayer this Thursday, their brothers and sisters in faith halfway across the globe are also praying hard for their spiritual "revival" and "transformation."

Beginning on Saturday and up to Thursday this week, Christians in Australia are extending their prayers to fellow Christians in America. These days coincide with the National Day of Repentance and the National Day of Prayer in the U.S.

The effort is led by Warwick Marsh of the Australian Heart Ministries, who have organised this call to prayer for America from Down Under for the past three years.

In an interview with Charisma News, Marsh emphasised the importance of prayers for America at present, saying that the country is currently facing "a spiritual battle for its very survival as a nation under God."

The Australian pointed out various challenges being faced by Christians in the U.S. nowadays.

"Secular forces have taken prayer out of school and progressively waged war against family, faith and religious freedom. It is time for Australia and the people of the world to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the USA in this battle for their nation," he said.

Marsh added that Australians should particularly pray for "revival and transformation for America," as stated in 2 Chronicles 7:14. This Bible verse reads: "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land"

"We in Australia are grateful for the protection that America gave Australia during World War II. American blood was poured out in the Coral Sea for Australians. It is time for us to return the favour and get on our knees and pray for America. It is time for us to call the nations of the world to stand in the gap in prayer for America," Marsh said.
