Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Chad Billingsley may be out for the entire season as he is back again on the disabled list after first feeling stiffness in his elbow during Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins.

Billingsley left the game Saturday and was placed on the list following the Phillies' 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Monday because of a strained right flexor tendon, ESPN reported.

"We have enough information that he is not going to be able to pitch for at least the next 15 days, so he's going to go on the 15 day-DL," Philadelphia Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said according to CSNPhilly.com.

ESPN added that Amaro said Billingsley's arm was sore and the reason might be a nerve issue.

Amaro also stated that the injury suffered by the 30-year-old pitcher might have ended his season.

Billingsley spent his first eight seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers before signing a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Phillies last January.

In seven starts with Philadelphia, the one-time All-Star is 2-3 with a 5.84 ERA; and is 83-64 with a 3.72 ERA in his career.

The stint on the disabled list will be the third time for Billingsley this 2015 season as he started the season on the list to regain his arm strength after surgery and was on the list for the second time because of a strained lat muscle behind his right shoulder.

"It's unfortunate. He's worked his rear end off to get back to the point where he's pitching in the big leagues again," Amaro said according to CSNPhilly.com.

Billingsley missed the entire 2014 season as he was recovering from a Tommy John surgery and a surgery to repair  a torn flexor tendon.

According to CSNPhilly.com, three pitchers will arrive in Philadelphia following Billingsley's injury and the prospects are Aaron Nola, Jerome Williams who is coming off the disabled list, and Aaron Harang who is recovering from injury.
