The Philadelphia 76ers are getting younger and younger and now have signed their 58th overall pick in 2015 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft forward J.P. Tokoto to a one-year deal.

According to Yahoo Sports, Tokoto agreed to a non-guaranteed tender offer worth $525,000.

The deal will make the 76ers keep the rights to Tokoto and they can make him a restricted free agent following next season if they give him a qualifying offer.

Tokoto has played for Philadelphia's Summer League teams that competed in Las Vegas and Utah.

Following his junior year in North Carolina, Tokoto was still eligible to play one more year in college but decided to declare for the NBA Draft.

Tokoto is an explosive player and in his time playing for the Tar Heels have had numerous highlight reel plays which included dunks and acrobatic layups.

The 21-year-old forward is also known for his defensive game and was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference All-Defensive Team in 2014.

Sports Illustrated suggested in their report that Tokoto will not just play for the 76ers but also for the team's NBA Developmental League (D-League) affiliate the Delaware 87ers.

During that time, Tokoto should impress the 76ers since they can waive him anytime they want until his contract becomes guaranteed on Jan. 10, NBC Sports reported.

Tokoto will likely be part of Philadelphia's squad for the preseason that will begin on Oct. 6 when they play the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

The 76ers will begin their 2015–16 campaign on Oct. 28 as they face the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden.

Last season, Philadelphia missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year and was again at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with an 18–64 record.

The 76ers are hoping for a better year next season and they are heavily relying on the arrival of 2015 third overall pick center Jahlil Okafor from national champion Duke.
