As Outlander winds up its first season, folks can look forward to a reportedly lavish and better season 2 on the horizon.

The season 1 finale of Outlander on May 30 is said to be something that will end on a bright note after some controversial graphical torture and rape scenes marred that previous (15th episode – Wentworth Prison).

That said episode was described as dark and disturbing to watch which may however be made up for with a reportedly happy ending before eventually prepping itself for a more fashionable season 2. Fashionable in a sense since the setting for the second season will reportedly be set in Paris during the reign of King Louis XV.

Apparently it will be a new time jump for the series based on the novels of Diana Gabaldon. The show got the nod for a second season in August 15, 2014 for at least 13 episodes. Season 2 will be based on the second book of Diana Gabaldon's Dragonfly in Amber series.

Hence, Outlander viewers can expect a totally different season 2 from the 18th century Scottish Highlands setting in season 1. So with a whole new time setting, expect new wardrobes, colors and fabrics which will be donned by the Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

As mentioned earlier, production for Season 2 of Outlander is already underway and will take place in Scotland. So it will be interesting how Ron Moore would shape up the area of his choice into the urban environment Paris is known for.

Moore plans to do some scouting in the south of England and Eastern Europe as he scours the regions for a proper setting similar to the streets of Paris.

But before fans look forward to a more lavishing second season, don't forget to watch the season finale of Outlander on May 30, 2015 via Starz.
