'Orange Is the New Black' season 4 rumor: Will Caitlyn Jenner help Sophia stand up against bullies?

Sophia (Laverne Cox) needs to stand up against bullies, but will she get the support of a famous LGBTQ advocate? Netflix

Netflix's groundbreaking original series "Orange Is the New Black" is known for featuring strong female characters who have to deal with life behind bars, but its seems the show will be adding more characters across genders in season 4. OK! Magazine previously revealed that Netflix bosses were trying to get Caitlyn Jenner to join the cast of "OITNB" season 4 in a cameo role.

According to the report, the 65-year-old reality show star became friends with fellow transgender woman Laverne Cox, who portrays the role of Sophia in the series. Sophia was taunted by her friends at the Litchfield Penitentiary back in season 3. If Jenner will agree to appear in the series next season, she could help Sophia take a stand against her oppressors in prison since she is a very strong defender of the LGBTQ rights.

Jenner, a former Olympic gold medalist and the step-dad to the famous Kardashian siblings, recently came out as a transgender woman after keeping her real identity a secret for a very long time. She is currently documenting her transformation in a reality documentary series "I am Cait" airing on MTV.

Will Jenner help mend the broken friendship between Sophia and Gloria (Selenis Leyva), who had a big feud last season?

In an interview with TV Guide, Leyva said, "We don't know what's coming yet ... but they are good people, and you see that individually. The audience got to see that these women are having conflict. And it's not about a personal attack on each other. It's more about their children, and how they're desperately trying to hold onto some kind of control."

However, there are no confirmations yet if Jenner will agree to appear in the series.

On the other hand, previous casting news revealed that "Pacific Rim's" Brad William Henke, "Get Smart's" Kelly Karbacz and "The Drop's" Mike Houston are confirmed to be joining the cast of "Orange Is the New Black." Both Henke and Houston will portray the role of jail guards, while Karbacz will act as one of the new Litchfield Penitentiary administrator.
