'Orange Is The New Black' season 4 spoilers: Can Alex keep up with Piper's new ruthless attitude in new episodes?

The dynamics between one of the fan-favorite couples of "Orange Is The New Black" will change once the series begins its fourth season.

During an interview with Speakeasy, actress Laura Prepon talked about how her character Alex Vause will deal with her relationship with Taylor Schilling's Piper Chapman.

At the end of season 3, Piper was slowly becoming a villain in the series, and she was not afraid to use any scheme in order to prove to everyone in the Litchfield Penitentiary that she is not the right person to mess with. But according to Prepon, Alex knows how to remind Piper that she is not a ruthless person.

"She [Alex] sees through all of Piper's BS," Prepon said during an interview with Speakeasy. "And that's why they're such a cool relationship. And I think that Alex knows that she's putting it on – it's not really her ... It's one of the reasons why Alex dumped [Piper] in Season 3. She's just like, 'Listen, this is kind of gross, and where's the real Piper?'"

Meanwhile, Piper's new dark, twisted persona may not last long. According to Schilling, Piper will eventually return to her old self because of the sudden surge of new female inmates next season. This will make her uncomfortable to keep her control inside the prison cells.

Will this mean that there is still a chance for Alex and Piper to get back together in "Orange Is The New Black" season 4?

Meanwhile, one of the possible new inmates that will join Netflix's original comedy-drama series is "Benched" actress Jolene Purdy. The actress will reportedly appear in "Orange Is The New Black" season 4, but Netflix has yet to reveal if Purdy is actually a new inmate, a new prison guard who will replace the currently missing John Bennett (Matt McGorry), or a different character.

"Orange Is The New Black" season 4 is slated to come out sometime in 2016.
