Fresh off the heels of releasing the OnePlus 2, the smartphone company is now working toward the reveal of its newest offering, although details about it at the moment remain vague.

OnePlus has already confirmed that their newest phone is set to debut later this year, giving fans something to look forward to before they have to change calendars.

Unfortunately, OnePlus has yet to give an exact date for the new phone's announcement, although that's not the only detail they are keeping under wraps.

As of now, OnePlus has refrained from giving a ton of firm indicators of what they are set to reveal.

It doesn't even have a name yet.

According to Techno Buffalo, the one thing that appears to be set in stone regarding the upcoming release from the company is that it will most certainly not be known as the OnePlus 3. The company has also indicated that the new phone will also not be known as the OnePlus 2S.

The decision to avoid giving the new phone those particular names is apparently because OnePlus is not looking at is new release as a direct successor to its earlier models, suggesting the company could be breaking ground on a new line.

It could also mean that the company is simply considering coming out with a new OnePlus 2 variant that could end up being either a miniature version of the phone that is already out, or perhaps even a supersized version of it.

Unfortunately, the company has not let out much in terms of what specs and features the new phone may have.

In related news, OnePlus has released a teaser image on their Google+ page, although its leading to more questions than answers.

The image shows nothing more than what appears to be a part of a shoelace set on top of something made of leather and the tagline, "A welcome bit of luxury."

The teaser is believed to either be for a new accessory or perhaps the mystery phone itself, according to Tech Radar.

More news about the mystery OnePlus phone is expected to come out later this year.
