The hit manga turned anime series "One Piece" just had its movie adaptation titled "One Piece: Gold," and fans worldwide are getting hyped over news that the movie will be released globally in the first month of 2017.

According to recent reports, Funimation has confirmed that the "One Piece: Gold" movie is going to be released in the U.S., Canada, and Australia in January 2017.

"One Piece: Gold" is the 13th movie adaptation for "One Piece." It was initially released in Japan earlier this year on July 23rd. Additionally, the Japanese animated film managed to garner a total of 5.1 billion yen — which roughly amounts to $50 million USD — during its premiere.

Because of the movie's hit success in Japan, "One Piece: Gold" is also expected to be a hit in other countries as well due to the popularity of the manga and anime series in the international market.

"One Piece: Gold" tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat pirate crew as they set forth on a journey to explore an independent country named Gran Tesoro. It is there where they will find the country's leader, Gild Tesero, who has an unimaginable amount of wealth that he uses to bribe the government and other pirate crews as well.

As Luffy and his crew enter the independent country that has no connection with the outside world, they will find new customs that are very different from what they consider normal. Once they discover Gild Tesero's evil plan, Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat pirate crew will work together to put an end to his evil schemes.

As of now, there is still no specific release date set for "One Piece: Gold," and fans will just have to wait a little longer to find out what day they should go to theatres in January 2017.
