'Once Upon a Time' season 5 spoilers: Merida to appear in 6th episode

 ABC

The live-action version of the fearless Scottish princess Merida will be introduced in the sixth episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 5.

The Disney character, who will be portrayed by Amy Manson in the series, will be seen in the episode titled "The Bear and the Bow." This is a fitting title for the princess' entry in the series, since the character is known for being an expert in archery.

But it seems like Merida will not be the only one who will use the bow and arrow when the fifth season begins later this month. Based on a Twitter post by her co-star Elliot Knight (Merlin), he, Sinqua Walls (Lancelot), Liam Garrigan (King Arthur) and Joana Metrass (the King's wife Guinevere) joined Manson during her archery training.

The characters these actors will portray in the upcoming season of "Once Upon a Time" were lifted from King Arthur's tale.

Merida is not the first character from Disney animated films to be featured in the fantasy drama. In season 4, Anna and Elsa, the Arendelle sisters from "Frozen," joined the series as they fought against the evil snow queen.

Meanwhile, "Once Upon a Time" season 5 will also focus on the transformation of Emma Swan from being the one of the series protagonists to the main baddie this season. Emma, portrayed by Jennifer Morrison, turned into the Dark Swan when she decided to sacrifice herself to save the Evil Queen Regina Mills (Lana Parilla) from crossing over into the dark side.

Regina will work with Emma's parents Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Emma's love interest Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) to bring her back to her real self.

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 will premiere on Sept. 27 on ABC.
