"The Vampire Diaries" took a different turn when lead actress Nina Dobrev exited the show. With her leaving the series, there are already speculations that it might be the show's last.

In a report from Hypable, it was mentioned that several fans didn't know what to expect after Dobrev's Elena Gilbert left the show. But now that season 7 has already showed several episodes, one can't help but wonder if the series will get renewed.

All signs likely point to a no, based on how creator Julie Plec continued with the story, and that's filling the shows with flash forwards.

Hypable speculated that the flash forwards signal the end of the show because it is one way of showing what the future is like for the characters.

At least Dobrev's future could be brighter, as she is reportedly being considered as one of the female leads in the planned remake of "Baywatch."

Deadline exclusively reported that the 90's hit series will be getting a big-screen reboot and will star some of today's hottest faces.

The news outlet revealed that Seth Gordon will take the director's seat and Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron will star as male leads.

Dobrev is included in the list of possible female leads, alongside "Percy Jackson's" Alexandra Daddario, "Pretty Little Liars'" Ashley Benson, and "Straight Outta Compton's" Alexandra Shipp, among many others.

Dobrev has yet to comment on the casting rumor, but she did mention in an interview with Who What Wear that she's up for a bigger, challenging role, especially with the conclusion of her "The Vampire Diaries" days.

Despite Dobrev wanting to get away from the vampire typecast and to focus more on big-screen roles, rumors about her making a comeback to the vampire series continue to swirl.

She may have expressed her excitement over season 7's premiere during a September interview with Entertainment Weekly, but the 26-year-old actress confirmed she's never coming back.

"That chapter is closed," she admitted.
