New York Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins preview, NBC Sports TV details: NHL 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 3

The New York Rangers will be looking to get their postseason back on track after crashing to the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. That loss left their Playoffs series tied up at 1-1, making tonight's game all the more important for both sides.

Game 3 of this NHL 2015 Playoffs Round 1 series has a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. EST from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The game will be broadcast on TV on NBC, but can also be watched online through live stream.

Despite winning two of the three periods of play on Saturday the Rangers had a disastrous second period which saw them allow the Penguins three unanswered scores. That 3-4 loss in Game 2 will have been demoralizing for the Rangers, and it has wiped out their home ice advantage in this series. However, they will be hopeful of gaining that back with a win on the road in Pittsburgh tonight.

The Penguins meanwhile will be pleased with their progress so far, and will feel like they've done as well as they could have hoped having played for the first two games on the road in the New York, and coming out with the series set at 1-1. The next three games will now take place in Pittsburgh, and if the Penguins can hold home ice they can finish things off without having to go back to New York for Games 6 and 7.

Pittsburgh will be hoping to keep out of the penalty box in Game 3; so far they have given the Rangers 12 power plays through the first two games, mostly coming from stick infractions.

Penguins coach Mike Johnston has said, "[The referees] have indicated to both teams that if you're going to use the stick anywhere in the wrist area, the hand area, you're going to come down on a player's hands like that, you're going to be called. We have to be a lot better with our sticks. Two got up into the face of the Rangers' players."

Tonight's Eastern Conference First Round Game 3 between the New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins will start at 7 p.m. ET.
