The Knicks won their third consecutive preseason game last Monday when they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 94–88.

Offseason signing forward Derrick Williams tallied 21 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal to lead the Knicks.

Franchise star Carmelo Anthony, who is bouncing back well from injury, again had a great performance contributing 18 points, one rebound, three steals, and one block in the victory.

Second year point guard Langston Galloway provided an all-around performance for New York filling the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

The Knicks' fourth overall pick in this year's draft, center Kristaps Porzingis, who has shown flashes of greatness in the team's first two preseason games, missed their matchup against Philadelphia due to a left quadriceps strain.

Meanwhile, the Celtics captured their first preseason win in the United States when they defeated the Brooklyn Nets last Wednesday, 109–105.

Before the win, the C's had a successful trip in Europe, beating Olimpia Milano (124–91) and Real Madrid (111–96).

In their most recent victory over the Nets, forward Amir Johnson led Boston with a great offensive and defensive performance. Johnson dropped 19 points, grabbed six rebounds, also having two steals, and two blocks in 24 minutes played.

Point guard Isaiah Thomas again shone for the Celtics with 17 points, four rebounds, nine assists, and one steal. Forward Jae Crowder, center Kelly Olynyk, and guard R.J. Hunter scored 11 points each to help the Celtics seal the win.

Big man David Lee, who played very well in their preseason games in Europe, did not play against the Nets and was given rest.
