'Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations' release date for all platforms in November

There will be a new "Adventure Time" game about to be released and it looks to give justice to the highly popular cartoon TV show.

According to the US Playstation Blog, the new "Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations" game will be much closer to the title, as it will take a modern twist to the classic, puzzle-solving gameplay.

Dave Ellis, designer and writer for the title's developer Vicious Cycle, said, "At its heart, Finn and Jake Investigations is a modern take on a classic adventure game, a genre that has seen a recent resurgence. Gameplay is based on exploring, investigating, and puzzle-solving."

He then added, "Through the course of the episodes, you get to interact with dozens of your favorite Adventure Time characters all over the Land of Ooo, including the Candy and Fire Kingdoms, Wizard City, and Castle Lemongrab."

The game's premise involves Jake and Finn unearthing a device called a tickertype, a machine that was used by Joshua and Margaret — Jake's parents — when they were working as detectives. The tickertype was used to receive assignments and print out information about cases worth investigating.

Although the game is centered on puzzle solving and investigating, the gameplay would also involve fighting. Finn would still use his sword in combat, defeating foes which drop collectible items and loot.

Plot-wise, the game will not be set within a single arc, but instead will be divided into separate adventures per case, all related to the kingdoms of Ooo. Not only that, but this will be the first time that an "Adventure Time" game will be set in 3D.

"Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations" will be made available for the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4; Xbox 360 and Xbox One; Wii U and the 3DS; and Windows PC this coming November.
