Things will be rosy between Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) when the CBS procedural drama "NCIS: Los Angeles" returns for its seventh season.

Ruah told TV Line that Deeks would take the relationship to the next level by inviting Kensi in a meet-up with his mother.

"Things must be getting serious if he makes the choice to introduce her to his mom. Throughout that episode, Deeks gets calls on his phone, he doesn't tell Kensi who it is, he doesn't pick up... so you can see he's making the decision about whether he wants to take this step or not," Ruah said.

The actress also revealed that the agent would take his time deciding whether to take the plunge or not. She praised the show for not rushing that specific storyline and making it "a thought-out decision."

Speaking of Deeks' mother, showrunner Shane Brennan said in an interview that the new character would "delight" the viewers. This was before CBS announced that "Parks and Recreation" alum Pamela Reed would take on the said role.

According to Brennan, "In the second episode, a new character is introduced, and the audience will be delighted. When this person appears, you're going to go, 'Oh my God, this is so much fun!'"

Brennan also added that the episode will be revealing more of Deek's family background. It appears that the viewers will finally get a glimpse of the secret life of the "mop-topped lawman."

Meanwhile, Callen (Chris O'Donnell) will reportedly go rogue in the upcoming installment of the hit series. According to CBS, the agent will embark on a secret project involving his father.

Last season, Callen discovered that Hetty (Linda Hunt) lied to him about his parent, claiming he was already dead. The shocking truth would then prompt him to launch his own investigation to locate his father, defying Hetty's orders not to do it. Sam (LL Cool J), Deeks, and Kensi would then be tasked to find Callen before he went too far.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 will premiere on Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
