It seems like Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris will be getting what he wanted since the offseason, a trade deal to leave the team, as the Houston Rockets are reportedly interested in him.
Before the 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season began, Morris requested the Suns to trade him after the organization included his twin brother, Marcus, in a trade deal with the Detroit Pistons last July.
But despite the desire of getting traded, the Suns decided to keep Morris, who, as of late, has not been performing that well and in their past two games has only played a total of around seven minutes.
In Sunday's 95–93 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Morris did not play (coach's decision) and in their 103–101 win over the Bulls only saw seven minutes of action, tallying only three rebounds.
ESPN mentioned in their report that last month that Marcus said his twin brother does not seem happy being with the Suns.
"I feel like I'm enjoying where I'm at. I hope he goes somewhere where he's happy too, so we both can play basketball, get back to playing normal," he added.
In 18 games played this season, Morris is averaging 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 25.1 minutes played per contest.
If Morris seems unhappy with the Suns, the Rockets might be a good team for him to start having fun again playing basketball.
ESPN reported that according to league sources, the Rockets are keeping their sights on Morris and possibly trade for him with their season not going as expected.
Houston is currently riding a three-game winning streak but is still at 10–11, enough for the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings.
If Morris becomes part of the Rockets, his twin brother's former team, he will join the likes of veteran forward Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer.
Morris is likely to have less playing minutes with Houston, but his scoring and rebounding capabilities will be of huge help to the team and its frontcourt.
