The "NBA 2K" franchise has been lauded for its ability to give fans as close to a realistic simulation of an NBA game as they can hope for, and that trait is being emphasized even further in "2K16."
In a new trailer, entitled "The Living World," released for "NBA 2K16," fans are given the chance to see just exactly what changes they can expect.
In this case, what they will see is a fundamental shift in the way the game's AI handles and manages specific situations.
The trailer demonstrates how the players and the coaches inside the game are now more aware of the specific situation and will thus react appropriately.
No longer will the in-game AI simply implement a blanket strategy for all kinds of games, and instead, according to iDigital Times, the AI will now understand and evaluate the situation at hand and deploy the type of strategy that would best work for that scenario.
An example of this shown in the trailer explored how the Golden State Warriors adjusted mid-series against the Cleveland Cavaliers by employing a smaller lineup to help counteract the size advantage of their opponents and effectively turn the games into footraces.
As for how those changes may translate to "NBA 2K16," fans will simply have to wait until the game is released to experience it for themselves.
In related news, two more classic teams have been added to "NBA 2K16," according to the official Phoenix Suns website.
The first classic team is the Phoenix Suns squad from the 2004–2005 season. That team went on to win 62 games during the regular season and also featured Steve Nash in what would be the first of his two Most Valuable Player (MVP) campaigns.
The second classic team is the Miami Heat from the 2005–2006 season. NBA fans will remember this team as the Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade led squad that went on to win the championship at the end of that season.
"NBA 2K16" will be released on Sept. 29.
