After taking a week-long break, "Modern Family" will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Titled "The Alliance," this week's episode will feature Gloria (Sofia Vergara), Phil (Ty Burrell) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) forming a secret alliance to make sure to conceal the evidence of their wrongdoings from their spouses. However, things don't go according to plan because Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) notices that something isn't right.

Meanwhile, Hayley (Sarah Hyland) plans a girl's day out with Rainer Shine's (Nathan Fillion) teenage daughter but things get a little bit too angst-filled. "Ellen" actress Joely Fisher is also going to guest star in this week's episode, and she will be portraying Maggie Braithwaite, a widow at the country club Jay (Ed O'Neill) goes to. Apparently, Luke (Nolan Gould) is going to find himself in a compromising position with Maggie, and he will inadvertently help Jay with his petition.

In other news, several reports are saying Britney Spears may have a cameo role in an episode of "Modern Family" this season. Well, the singer is undoubtedly a big fan of the show. Just take a look at her smile on the photo she took with O'Neill earlier this year. It's quite funny how O'Neill didn't realize the woman with him was Spears.

"Look at the look on my face — do I look like I'm sitting with Britney Spears?!" he told Digital Spy.

A few years ago, Spears said she would love to guest star in "Modern Family." But the question is: Did anyone from the studio ever approach and ask her to appear in the show? Right now, this rumor hasn't been verified, so readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt.

Another rumor that has been circulating around the internet is the alleged feud between Julie Bowen and Vergara. In an interview with E! Online earlier this month, Bowen decided to set the record straight and denied they have been bickering. She said the two of them were friends and she criticized the people who were behind the feud rumors.

"You don't have to have the truth anymore; you just have to have the internet. You can just make up anything. I'm an alien. You're a two-headed cat from outer space," she stated.
