Mitch (Jesse Taylor Ferguson) is disliking being dependent on husband Cam (Eric Stonestreet) in the upcoming season of ABC's "Modern Family."

The International Business Times reports that unemployment is taking its toll on the uptight Mitch in season 7. After admitting that he lost his job in the finale, things are not going so well financially in the Tucker-Pritchett household. Mitch and Cam are forced to cut back on their expenses, and the former does not like it one bit.

Mitch is not used to being dependent on his husband, as he sees himself as the more responsible one. Now that he has a lot of free time in his hands, he is slowly going crazy trying to look for hobbies to will away the day. He will even take to coaching Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) and her soccer team. But as he does not know anything about the game, viewers can take a guess how that will end.

As for Cam, he does not mind that Mitch is always around in the house. In fact, he welcomes the change, as he has initially believed that his husband is having an affair. Cam is obviously relieved that the secret Mitch has been keeping is his joblessness, so it is okay if they are a little bit tight financially.

In an interview with Bustle, Ferguson said that Mitch will be pursuing all job avenues in season 7. He said that his character will start off with tapping into his artistic side, but will quickly realize there is no money in that.

"My character starts to get a little stir crazy and kind of goes off on a tangent of trying to paint to occupy some of his free... He then starts picking up random jobs here and there... The writers are giving me a lot of really fun stuff to work with this season, so far," the actor said.

"Modern Family" season 7 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
