It has been 21 years since Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt first went on an "impossible mission" and two years since the last "Mission: Impossible" installment graced the big screen. Now, the long wait for the next film is almost over as "Mission: Impossible 6" has been announced to hit theaters on July 27, 2018.

The filming has already started and fans were recently treated to several set photos released online. One of the new additions to the cast, Henry Cavill, was spotted filming with co-star Cruise at the Gare d'Austerlitz in Paris, France, earlier this week. Just Jared got a first look at Cavill on the set of "Mission: Impossible 6." In the photo posted on the entertainment website, the "Superman" actor, who now sports a mustache, is seen crossing his arms with a serious look on his face.

His role in the movie is still unclear at this point, but there are speculations that he could be replacing Jeremy Renner's William Brandt, who may not be returning for "Mission: Impossible 6" due to scheduling conflicts.

Although most of the plot details are currently being kept under wraps, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison revealed to Collider that in the highly anticipated film, Cruise will be topping everything he has ever done in past films. "What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that's come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he's been training for a year," Ellison told the publication.

"It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out. It's gonna be mind-blowing."

Ellison also revealed that they will be filming in three countries and that production will take 90 to 100 days, just like in previous "Mission: Impossible" installments.
