Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date soon imminent as Best Buy cuts price of Surface Pro 3

Normally, announcements about an upcoming release of a next-gen product are hinted at by price slashes of its predecessors. This might be such as case with the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

The U.S. retail giant is offering massive discounts for Surface 3 bundles, which CNET reports to be up until April 17 only. Aside from the 2014 Windows-based tablet being up for grabs at Best Buy for as low as $600, the retailer also has an on-going trade deal that places buyers willing to swap their working tablets for a Surface Pro 3. Buyers can get as much as $200 discount which they can get by combining the topmost value of their trade-in tablet, plus a $50 gift card.

Aside from the on-going deal from Best Buy, the Surface Pro 4 will be released in July, and Microsoft is just waiting for an opportune moment for the big reveal. According to Kdramastars, a source stated: "The Surface Pro is going to be available on July 2015. The reason why this hasn't been announced yet is because Microsoft wants to make this announcement a big deal and they are waiting for the perfect event so that they could announce it there."

Because of the success of the Surface Pro 3, the Redmond-based company recently launched the Surface 3, touting it as a combination of the Pro's tech savvies and the original Surface's price range. However, for power users who are also Microsoft fans, the Surface Pro 4 would be the tablet to beat once it releases.

Advertised to carry the upcoming operating system from Microsoft, Windows 10, the new Surface Pro 4 tablet is to come in two versions – a 12-inch mid-range spec one and a higher-end 14-inch model. Both will have a 2160 x 1440 resolution, but will differ in RAM, as the high-end one could come in up to 16 GB RAM – double that of the Surface Pro 3. Also, the higher-end Surface Pro 4 could come with as much as 1 TB of storage.
