The Meizu MX5 smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, according to rumors. The Meizu MX4, on the other hand, sports a 5.36 inch IPS LCD display screen with an 1152 x 1920 resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Meizu MX5 will have a powerful 20.7 mega pixel rear camera along with a 5 mega pixel camera on the front. The Meizu MX4 also has the same pixel quality camera on the back but with only 2 mega pixel front-facing camera. The upcoming device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek MT-6795T SoC chipset, while the MX4 comes with the MediaTek MT6595 chipset.

The new Meizu MX5 is expected to offer 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory space, possibly up to 64 GB, while the MX4 comes with only 2 GB and up to 64 GB internal memory.

Also, new images have just surfaced online confirming the new Meizu MX5 handset will come with a fingerprint scanning technology, as previously expected, along with the fast mCharge technology. Phone Arena reported that the new MX5 will be powered by a 3150 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the MX4's 3100 mAh battery.

Like its predecessor, the new device is expected to come in the same white, gray and gold colors.
