'Mass Effect 4' details leak; new location, plot and gameplay

Mass Effect 4 concept work EA Games/ Bioware

Rumor has it that major details for the next "Mass Effect" may have been leaked due to a survey.

Originally found on Reddit, a user said that he took a random online survey, and the topic for the survey is "Mass Effect 4". Allegedly, the details and information about the upcoming title were already set and in development, and the survey is checking for players' and fans' reaction and first impressions on the game.

If the survey is to be taken seriously, it seems that "Mass Effect 4" will take place on a whole new location, very different from the areas and events in the previous three "Mass Effect" titles. It is unclear if Commander Shepard will be making a comeback for the fourth installment, but details show that the events in "Mass Effect 4" will be located in the Helius Cluster.

The player will take on the role of a pathfinder, and on the journey to find a new home for humanity, gamers will come across the remains of a "Remnant." The Remnants are once powerful aliens with advanced technology that is able to colonize and control sections of the galaxy.

One of the focus for the next "Mass Effect" is establishing colonies in the Helius Cluster, and players must choose strategic locations to colonize. These colonies, in turn, will provide the team with resources to upgrade equipment and unlock missions.

The player will be the central figure in a team of seven people, with each crew member having their own stories and unique skills. Players can then develop and cultivate relationships with the crew members, and interaction with them can either build or destroy the character's loyalty.

In terms of gameplay, the new game is reminiscent of "Destiny," with players and the team undergoing Vault Raid missions, Strike Team packages, and Horde modes.
