Fans of the racing series "Mario Kart" were ecstatic when Nintendo revealed the very first DLC pack for the eight-title installment. Now, hardcore fans of the genre can rejoice, as the second DLC pack has been announced to be released this May.

Continuing the tradition of featuring a cool game for its expansion packs, Nintendo will cross-over their life simulation game "Animal Crossing" with the "Mario Kart 8" game title. Fans of both series will be able to race across the "Mario Kart" world with three new characters, namely Villager, Isabelle, and Dry Bowser. Aside from the additional characters, the second DLC will also feature four new vehicles, eight winding tracks, and two new cups.

In the official website, no specific date was mentioned. However, there are rumors circulating, citing a leaked translation of a Nintendo Direct presentation, that the second pack will be released on May 7. Aside from the DLC release, there will be new updates to be made on the same day for the game, which include time laps on TV, new displays for local two-player modes, one on the gamepad and one on the TV, and new amiibo costumes.

The first DLC pack featured "The Legend of Zelda" with Link, Tanooki Mario, and CatPeach as additional characters, four new vehicles, eight tracks, and two cups presented.

If players would like to get the two packs either separately or in a bundle, they must have at least 2+ GB of storage space on their systems.

There is also an on-going pre-order for the second pack which costs $7.99, or players who want to play both cross-over worlds can purchase both packs for $11.99. As an added bonus, those who will purchase both packs in a bundle will get eight new colors for the Yoshi and Shy Guy characters.
