The Manchester Derby will take place today, Sunday, when Manchester United hosts Manchester City at Old Trafford, with both clubs trying to improve their placing in the English Premier League (EPL) table.

United is currently fourth in the table with 19 points after nine league games played and is tied with fifth placer Leicester City.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their past two outings, defeating Everton 3–0 in the Premier League before coming up with a 1–1 draw against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

A victory for United today will give the club a chance to tie current league-leading Arsenal with 22 points.

In a report by BBC Sport, Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal calls the match against City an "emotional" one for the fans.

Van Gaal also added about the matchup, "The champion is only in May. It's a big step when we win, that's true, but you also have to continue."

Meanwhile, City will try to again be the top club in the EPL when it plays against United today.

The Citizens were the number one club in the Premier League before the Gunners defeated Everton 2–1 at the Emirates Stadium Saturday.

City will have all the momentum heading to the Manchester Derby as the club won in its past four matches in all competitions. The Citizens have defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach (2–1), Newcastle United (6–1), Bournemouth (5–1), and Sevilla (2–1).

City manager Manuel Pellegrini said, according to BBC Sport, that they should not be committing the mistakes they did last season and must improve each game.

A win for City against the Red Devils will return the club to the top of the Premier League table with 24 points.

The matchup between Manchester United and Manchester City will take place today, Oct. 25, at 10:05 a.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
