Two clubs on the opposite side of the Premier League table will meet at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City host Newcastle United this Saturday.

Man City are trying to return on the winning track as they are coming off back-to-back losses in their Premier League campaign.

The Citizens' first loss in league play was suffered against West Ham United (2–1), then they were dominated by Tottenham Hotspur in their last match which they lost 4–1.

Before that, City was on a five-match winning streak with all victories being shutout wins that included a huge 3–0 triumph over defending champions Chelsea.

Despite losing two consecutive times in Premier League play, the Citizens are still heading to the match against Newcastle with a win after defeating Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League.

Man City are currently on the second spot in the Premier League table with 15 points, just a point behind league leaders Manchester United who have 16 points.

A win for Manuel Pellegrini's men will help them regain the number one spot in the Premier League table with 18 points.

Meanwhile, Newcastle is still searching for their first ever Premier League win this season with seven matches already played.

The Magpies are second to the last in the table with only three points following three draws and four losses to begin their Premier League campaign.

Newcastle is just up by a point over Sunderland, who are at the most bottom of the table with only two points.

In their last Premier League match, Newcastle forced a 2–2 draw against Chelsea who are also not faring well in their  attempt to defend the title.

A win for the Magpies would be huge as it will give them six points, taking them away from the bottom hole and tying them with 17th placer Stoke City.

The match between Manchester City and Newcastle United will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
