'Mad Men' season 7 spoilers, UK release date: Matthew Weiner's last words for the show

Jon Hamm in Mad Men AMC

"Mad Men" is nearing its final run as the second half of season 7 is about to air in the US by April 5. Fans of the show have been aware of the show's final schedule for nearly two months while viewers in the UK have been kept in the dark. A new report now announces season 7 will air by April 9.

The announcement, reported by Den of Geek, states that season 7 episode 8 "Severance" will air by 10pm, April 9, on the Sky Atlantic network. This will be four days following the episode's airing in the United States. "Severance" is set to air in the US by April 5.

The schedule has also been posted on Geek Town.

In relation to the show's ending, series creator Matthew Weiner told the Telegraph, "When I saw the editor's cut of the last episode, I lost it. Part of it was fatigue; part of it was realizing I was never going to see another one, ever."

Weiner continues to narrate the level of secrecy concerning the ending of the show. He had told his writers, his wife, and actor Jon Hamm but for everyone else he gave a script with an alternate, fake ending to ensure that the finale would never be leaked.

During the interview he stated that there are no definitive plans for a follow-up project once the season finale airs. "My major goal," Weiner says, "is to take my bathrobe off before the kids get home from school."

Rumors about the finale has been floating about the blogosphere for some time, with many fans speculating that main character Don Draper would die before the season ended. Hints such as the falling suited man in the opening credits as well as Draper's descending health indicates he would die by the last episode.
