LG G4 vs LG G3 vs Galaxy S6 specs comparison: How does LG's new handset fare?

LG is the most recent manufacturer to come out with its flagship, the LG G4. Before that, early this year, Samsung unveiled their Galaxy S6 line up. How will LG's newest addition fare over its predecessor the G3, and its competitor the Galaxy S6?

Design

In terms of looks, the G4 offers a much sleeker design than that of its predecessor. True, both phones look the same when viewed from the front, but the G4 sports a much squarish design than its brother.

The Samsung Galaxy S6, on the other hand, looks and feels more futuristic than LG's newest. The glass-backed design on the S6, and the Edge display of its cousin, offers a balance between traditional form factor and sleek design.

Processor

Under the hood, the new G4 sports a 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset, a much better alternative than the G3's Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. Most observers question why LG didn't use the much newer 810 SoC processor, but in terms of hardware specs compatibility, battery performance, and display support, the current processor in the LG G4 is a good choice.

The Galaxy S6, meanwhile, features Samsung's own Exynos octa-core chip with 3 GB of RAM. Since most of the components for the new flagship is also proprietary for Samsung, the pairing of the chipset with other hardware specs also made for a fluid, performance-driven handset.

Display

The LG G4 wins over the Galaxy S6 in terms of display size, opting for the same 5.5-inch display that was introduced with the G3. It also wins over its predecessor, as the new G4 uses a Quad HD IPS Quantum LCD display.

However, Samsung's 5.1-inch display is the best bet in terms of sharpess. Although both the G4 and Galaxy S6 feature 2560 x 1440 resolution, the S6 has a pixel density of 576 ppi, making the display much sharper and brighter.
