A Lenovo smartphone built by Motorola could be on the way, based on the leaked image that had circulated online.

The image was released by popular tipster @upleaks, who believes that the Motorola team would take part in making the design of the rumored smartphone. The image has since been taken down.

The device, which was referred to as Lemon X, sports rounded corners and where the camera is being placed largely resembles smartphone designs from Motorola.

Not all design aspects of Lenovo's upcoming phone have been taken from Motorola.

One of the most obvious similarities is that Lemon X carries the metal frame and antenna bands on the device's outer edges, a design particular in Motorola Moto X and Nexus 6.

On the other hand, the most noticeable differences can be found on the front design of the phone. According to reports, the Lemon X sports three capacitive buttons found under the display, as opposed to the Motorola lineup which has the home, back, and multi-window buttons on screen.

9to5 Google also noted that Lemon X has a different shape than the Moto lineup; it also has a distinct fingerprint sensor, which suggests that the device could probably be powered by Android Marshmallow and will adopt its native fingerprint support, as noted in the same report.

Apart from the abovementioned features, not much has been revealed about the so-called Lemon X as of the moment.

Lemon X could only be a codename for the device and a proper name has yet to be given. Based on the leaked image and the fact that it carries the Dolby brand, it is expected that Lemon X will belong to the midrange to high-end category.

Reports about the Lemon X should be taken as speculations at this point, but surely, more details will be revealed in the days to come.
