Lenovo pairs Yoga Tablet 2 with keyboard

First off, even without the keyboard, Lenovo's Yoga Tablet 2 is already a beautiful device, design-wise. The big battery cylinder along one edge of the tablet doesn't mar its appearance, but rather hides the flip out kickstand when the user rotates it. The minimalist textured plastic is easy to grip, and the tablet itself is encased in metal, together with its hinges, giving the Yoga Tablet 2 a premium and strong look.

Now, Lenovo pairs off its Yoga Tablet 2 with a Bluetooth keyboard, and with the attached kickstand on the tablet, transforms the device into somewhat an office workhorse. The paired Bluetooth keyboard comes as stock, but is actually a compressed version of a full keyboard. However, for users who are much more familiar with a desktop's work environment, using the included keyboard might be difficult at first. Build-wise though, the keyboard is sturdy and the matte black finish gives it a premium feel. The keys are also easy to press and the touchpad very much responsive.

What makes it good to include a Bluetooth keyboard with the device is that both the tablet and the keyboard can be used separately. This is particularly useful with the 10-inch version, where the magnetic latch is in the twisting portion of the kickstand cylinder. Separating the tablet with the accessory while using them both is also useful when adjusting the viewing distance. And with the Tablet 2 standing and propped up in a number of positions, it gives the user lots of viewing angles.

The other specs of the Yoga Tablet 2 make it a moderately fast and dependable workhorse. It runs on an Intel Atom chipset, and a 10.1-inch IPS screen that is able to display full HD, and a capacitive 10-point multitouch feature. It also has a 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which users can expand via microSD. The stock OS is a Windows 8.1 with Bing for Tablets.
